A little unnamed tidal creek near the mouth of the Mousam River along the Bridle Path in Kennebunk, Maine. Looking out to sea under a complex sky. Sony a5100 with E 10-18 f4 at 15mm equivalent. Superior Auto with Landscape Scene Mode. Processed in Photomator.
I went out looking for Sandpiper action at our local Kennebunk beach but had to stop for land/seascape. (There are some sandpipers along the surf line.) Sony a5100 with the E 10-18 f4 zoom at 15mm equivalent. Superior Auto with Landscape Scene mode. Processed in Photomator.

One of my favorite views at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge Headquarters, looking out over the Merriland River to its junction with the Little River and the sea beyond. It was an intense August afternoon yesterday on the loop trail at the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge headquarters in Wells, Maine. The last of our hot days for a while with a strong front moving through and building great clouds over the ocean. Sony a5100 with Sony E 10-18 f4 at 15mm equivalent. Superior Auto with Landscape Scene Mode and brightness dialed down a bit to preserve details in the clouds. Processed in Photomator.
Mousam River marsh looking out to sea over the beach. Great sky! Reflective pools. Textured marsh grasses. And August morning light over it all. Sony a5100 with Sony E 10-18 f4 zoom at 15mm equivalent. Superior Auto, Landscape Scene Mode. Processed in Photomator.
Yesterday was our first partially sunny day since I got my Sony 10-18 f4 zoom lens in the mail, so of course I was out looking for landscapes and low perspective semi-macros. This is the Mousam River from the Rt. 9 bridge. Sony a5100 in Superior Auto, Lanscape Scene Mode. 15mm equivalent. Processed in Photomator.
First photos from my new (used, like new) Sony E 10-18 f4 wide angle zoom. This is 15mm equivalent on an overcast morning with more than a little smoke from western wildfires in the air. With this lens it is all about perspective. 🙂 Sony a5100. Superior Auto, Landscape mode. Processed in Photomator.
Something in every layer of interest…from the beach rose pips and weathered post in the foreground to the snow fence and wind combed marsh grasses in the mid-ground, to the little black clouds just above the horizon…something to take the eye. I am sometimes accused of taking photos with nothing in them…but I say that is exactly what I am photographing…the too much to fit in a frame shots. Sony a5100 with 16-50 kit lens at 24mm equivalent. Intelligent Auto, Landscape Scene Mode. Processed in Photomator.
As the remnants of Hurricane Debby approached the northeast coast, the skies heralded her coming. 🙂 Lots of drama. Sony a5100 with 16-50 kit zoom at 24mm equivalent. Intelligent Auto. Processed in Photomator.
