Amanita mushrooms: Emmon’s Preserve, Arundel, Maine, USA October 2026 — The largest of these is fully 10 inches across the cap, and this cluster was only one of several in a few square yards of forest floor. This is one of the blushing Amanitas, but I am not sure which one, and considering that some Amanitas are among the most deadly of poisonous mushrooms, I am not about to try eating it.
