Great Egret: Kennebunk, Maine, USA, September 2025 — Still not nearly the number of Egrets, neither Snowy or Great, as we had last year. I suspect the little brine shrimp or whatever they eat in the tide pools did not hatch out this year because of our drought. We will have to wait until next year to see if this is a permanent change, or a temporary setback or some of both. Either way I am always pleased to see such a handsome bird. Sony a6700.
