White-necked Jacobin, Rio Santiago Resort, Honduras
No visit to the Lodge at Pico Bonito Honduras is complete without a day at the neighboring Rio Santiago Resort, and its 100s of hummingbird feeders. When we were there this week the Brown Violet-ear Hummingbirds were so dominant in numbers and behavior that they were keeping many of the usual species for this time of year away from the feeders, but I did manage to capture this close shot of a White-necked Jacobin at one of the feeders.
