Not a Warbler :)
We interrupt the endless stream of Warbler images coming out of Magee Marsh and the Biggest Week in American Birding to bring you this special Boardwalk Raccoon edition of Pic 4 Today. This specimen was high up one of the remaining old growth cottonwoods right next to the boardwalk, and while I enjoyed seeing and photographing it, it was also a serious pain in the neck…literally. It hurts to hold your camera or binoculars up that straight and that high. 🙂 Warbler neck is a serious affliction at the Biggest Week in American Birding, but let me tell you, it has nothing on Raccoon neck!
These shots are also a testament to how good the Olympus OM-D E-M10 is. Because of the difficult light they were both shot at ISO 6400! Not bad at all. 1/640th @ f6.7. 600 and 1200mm equivalent (using the digital extender in the E-M10). Processed in Snapseed on my tablet.
