What the wind did with the snow.
Since the temperatures never got above single digits yesterday (it is still -14 F as I write this), I only got out in our fresh foot of snow as long as it took to snowblow the drive. In the afternoon the sun did come out and the shadows across the drifts tempted me to suit up and take a short walk, just around the boundaries of the yard to see if I could find an image or two. This is right at the edge of our yard. The shadow across the foreground is the post they put up in the winter so the plow will know where the curb is. Even so, it has a primeval look to it…like it might be somewhere much more distant and wild.
