Flowers in a German Forest

I am going to have to resort to posting more than one image a day if I am going to fairly represent my keepers from my trip to England, Germany, and Holland. On this trip I got out in the German countryside and forest much more than in any previous trip. A friend took me two days to his “hunting allotment” in a forest just at the edge of Bavaria. We were looking for Black Woodpecker and whatever else we could find. What I found, one day when we stopped deep in the forest for lunch, was wildflowers! Many wildflowers, of many different species, all new to me. I spent the rest of the afternoon with my eye out, and came up with 20 or more species just in this small patch of  Bavarian forest. What you see in the lead photo is Bell Flower, a Campanula of some sort. There were many clumps of this showy flower through the forest.

There were also a wide variety of what appeared to miniature orchids.
