That Common Paraque again…

Common Paraque, Estero Llano Grande State Park and World Birding Center in Weslaco Texas

I have photographed this Common Paraque at Estero Llano Grande State Park and World Birding Center in Weslaco Texas every year for the…well I have been trying to count the years, but I get lost somewhere around 7. It roosts beside the Alligator Lake trail, less than a yard from the foot traffic, behind a low barrier of brush. I assume it is the same bird every year. I can not imagine another bird picking that same spot…exposed as it is. Occasionally I have caught it in a shift of sun, but most of the time it is deep in the shadows of the thicket, requiring high ISOs and slow shutter speeds. This year I was able to set the Sony for Multi-frame  Noise Reduction to produce better detail and less noise in this low angle shot. The camera takes 4 exposures at a lower ISO and adds them to produce the equivalent exposure of one high ISO shot…but with better image quality. Pretty slick!
