Lupines in Close<\/p><\/div>\n

Lupines are impressive plants. A little research yesterday turned up the fact that they are grown as a food crop, both for animal and human consumption, in many parts of the world. The beans have to be soaked in salt water for several days to remove toxins, but after soaking they are used in dishes in Germany, in particular, \u00a0around the\u00a0Mediterranean\u00a0Sea and through the near-East. Native Americans in both North and South America harvested and ate the Lupine beans.<\/p>\n
