They were on their way from Mexico to repopulate North America, wave on wave. They do it every year. While the American Lady butterfly is fairly common in Maine, Painted Ladies only occasionally get this far north. What a treat to find one on a photoprowl down by the lower Mousam River earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Sony HX400V at 1200mm equivalent field of view. ISO 80 @ 1\/400th @ f6.3.
