Dusky-faced Tanager: Tico Rainforest B&B, Sarapiqui, Costa Rica, December 2024 \u2014 According to Victor, many birders and photographers come to Tico Rainforest B&B specifically to see and photograph the Dusky-faced Tanager. And indeed, in all my trips to Costa Rica, I have only seen it at Victor\u2019s feeders, on this trip\u2026or maybe, if memory serves, had distant glimpses of it from the Sarapiqui tour boat on the Puerto Viejo river right behind Victor\u2019s property. It is a fairy common bird and ranges down from Costa Rica all the way to Ecuador and Peru, but is maybe harder to see than some of the other more brightly colored Tanagers.
