had just finished cleaning up<br \/>from making oat milk, and,<br \/>while I was at it in the sink,<br \/>getting the french press ready<br \/>for tomorrow, and emptying<br \/>the sink drain strainer outside<br \/>among the plants (they love<br \/>the mix of coffee grounds and<br \/>oat mash) when I glanced,<br \/>in passing, out the deck doors<br \/>at the feeders. I suppose some<br \/>flurry of activity caught the<br \/>corner of my eye. The feeders<br \/>and all the perches we have<br \/>provided, were covered with<br \/>small birds\u2026Pine Siskins as<br \/>I looked closer. I counted as<br \/>they flew off\u202620 at least\u2026<br \/>a veritable hoard of siskins\u2026<br \/>or since they are allied with<br \/>the finches, perhaps a \u201ccharm\u201d<br \/>or a \u201ccompany\u201d or a \u201ctrembling\u201d<br \/>(all collective nouns for finches)<br \/>of fine featured Pine Siskins.<br \/>Three hung around at the<br \/>thistle feeder long enough<br \/>for me to get a photo or two,<br \/>despite the light. The photos<br \/>will be nothing much to boast<br \/>of but enough to seal the<br \/>memory of the afternoon we<br \/>were invaded by a trembling<br \/>of the Pine Siskins, 20 strong.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Sony Rx10iv at 600mm equivalent. Program mode with my custom birds and wildlife modifications.
