Yesterday\u2019s day poem was about the turkeys who came wandering through the yard in the morning rain.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carol came in in the middle of my Qi Gong
\nthis morning, me still in my bare feet, tee-shirt
\nand pajama pants, and announced that there
\nwere six turkeys in the back yard. I grabbed
\nmy camera. Turns out it was a hen and five
\nwell grown poults, looking for sustenance
\namong the fallen leaves under our trees in
\nsteady rain\u2026making a short cut, maybe,
\nacross our yard. I got a few shots from the
\nopen deck door before they disappeared up
\nthe alley between our house and the house
\nnext door\u2026not an alley proper of course but
\nthe narrow area between our house and the
\nhedge, full of strawberry plants and sunflowers.
\nEventually they came out onto the front lawn
\nand I could stand in the front door and photo-
\ngraph them as they passed under our little
\napple trees. Carol had to leave right then or
\nbe late for a funeral, so she went out, and
\nof course they all took wing, the poults high
\ninto the pines across the road and the hen
\nsailing down the road and across to the
\nwoods at eye-level\u2026which was all she could
\nmanage in her mature dignity. Such a treat.
\nMaking the most of a rainy morning. I got
\nback to my Qi Gong and the turkeys went
\nlooking for sustenance in someone else\u2019s
\nyard, or maybe the marshy edge of the wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What more can I say? Sony RX10iv at 600mm and 200mm. Program mode. Processed in Polarr and assembled as a video slideshow in ImgPlay.\u00a0<\/p>\n
